HELENA CUNNINGHAM

TRYON – Helena Cunningham, 66, of Tryon passed away, Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. 

 

A native of Tryon, she was the daughter of Lorena Johnson Cunningham of Tryon and the late Richard Cunningham. Ms. Cunningham retired from White Oak Manor of Tryon after 26 years of service. She was a member of Church of the Living God in Tryon. In her spare time, she loved cooking and taking care of her children and the love of her life, her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Cunningham. 

 

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Rashawn T. Cunningham (Loretta Splawn) and Lashawn Cunningham (Apryl) both of Tryon; two daughters, Rhonda Cunningham and Tonya Cunningham both of Tryon; three brothers, Richard Cunningham, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida, Coy Cunningham of Tryon and Calvin Cunningham of Charlotte; four sisters, Aileen Crawford of Tryon, Patricia Jackson of Tryon, Lucinda Thompson of Columbus and Angela Irene Williams of Inman.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 

 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sarah Taylor officiating.
