Sunset Series returns to TFAC

Silver Travis Band kicks off spring concerts in outdoor amphitheater 

 

Celebrate spring with the Sunset Series at Tryon Fine Arts Center. Weekly outdoor concerts return on Thursdays in May, running for five weeks from May 2nd through 30th. New for this year, each performance will start at 6:30 PM with a special guest to open the show, followed by a headlining act.

Mountain View BBQ will have a food truck onsite for families to grab dinner while they enjoy a great concert and a beautiful sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Peterson Amphitheater. 

 

TFAC will also offer complimentary samples from a special brewery or winery each night from 6:30-7:30 PM. 

 

The series kicks off with the Columbus, NC-based Silver Travis Band and opening act Woody Cowan on Thursday, May 2. On May 9 acoustic folk duo Mary & Ary start the night off and headliner HotPoint Trio brings swinging Gypsy Jazz to the Amphitheater. 

 

May 16 sees Lecretia & ThunderRoad making their Sunset Series debut with country-infused southern rock with local favorite TJ Jeter opening the evening on guitar. Asheville artists take over on May 23 with Noah Proudfoot and the Botanicals performing funk and soul and R&B outfit KISMET opening the show. 

 

The series finale features Shaun Hopper and J Klein with everything guitar on Thursday, May 30. Asheville’s rising star Jane Kramer opens the final performance, which is sponsored by Harper Corporation.
