Marlene Joy Nelon McDowell, 60, of Sunny View, passed away Friday April 19, 2019 after an extended illness.  

Having lived all her life in Polk County she was the daughter of the late John Harle Nelon Jr. and Catherine Odom Nelon of Sunny View. She enjoyed her Grandchildren, riding her Harley and crafting. She worked many years at Milliken as a fixer and after was the Manager of two local Hardee’s locations. The last several years she has been the in home care-giver of her Mama. She was always so kind and cared for many friends in their last days over the years.  

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother Kevin Nelon (Kelly).  

She is also survived by her two sons, Christopher McDowell (Robin) and Andrew McDowell both of Sunny View. 3 brothers; John Nelon (Becky), Flint Nelon (Kim) and Randy Nelon (Chrissy) all of Sunny View. She had 4 precious grandchildren that she cherished with all her heart; Kaleigh, Shaylynn, CJ, and Benjamin. 9 nieces and nephews and 2 Great nephews who will miss her dearly and a special sister Tera Nelon Casturaro (Brian) of Sunny View.
