The free pick up is for inside Columbus residents only.

The town will pick up items such as household appliances, furniture, carpet, flooring, tires, mattresses and washers and dryers.

Not accepted will be anything that is hazardous waste, roof shingles, batteries, paint, items containing Freon, propane tanks, household garbage, yard waste, televisions, computers, electronics, microwaves or recyclables.

In-town residents can leave their items at the curbside, where the public works crew will make a daily run to dispose of the items at the landfill.

Residents do not need to call to schedule a pick up. The public works crew will drive around town each day during the week.

The crew will only pick up one load per household. Items that are not on the curbside by Friday, April 12 will not be collected.
