Polk County’s track and field teams braved cool, wet conditions Saturday to compete in the WNC Daylight Lead Off meet at A.C. Reynolds in Asheville.

The Wolverines had two event winners on the day, with Izzy Jackson posting a 1:00.0 to win the 400 meters and Olivia Overholt notching a 2:29.2 to claim the 800 meters.

Overholt also finished second in the 1600 meters.

The Polk girls placed fifth in the event, with Watauga’s girls taking top honors, with the Wolverine boys claiming fourth as A.C. Reynolds won that competition.

The Wolverines are slated to be back in action on Friday, hosting the Wolverine Co-Ed meet in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
