Volunteer Opportunities at Thermal Belt Habitat
Published 11:05 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019
Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity seeks volunteers to help build and repair homes. All skill levels are welcome. Habitat’s team of staff, AmeriCorps workers and seasoned volunteer workers provide guidance and oversight. The Habitat ReStore located inLandrum needs volunteers to assist with check-out and to help clean and move items.
“Volunteers are the foundation of Habitat for Humanity.” Ron Laughter, President and CEO of Thermal Belt Habitat explains, “Without volunteers Habitat wouldn’t be able to accomplish the mission of building decent, safe affordable homes. Volunteers build the houses. Without volunteers it would be too expensive to build houses and Habitat homes would not be affordable to low-income families. Volunteers also work in the Habitat ReStore, and with Homeowner Services helping select potential new homeowners and guiding them through the process of building their home.”
