Jimmy Green Jr., 24, of Greer, was charged with second-degree arson and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Green was charged earlier this week with discharging a weapon into a dwelling/vehicle and possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, according to Greenville County Detention Center records.

The incident occurred Monday morning in the 400 block of Howard Road in Landrum, when a standoff occurred between the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and Green. Other people got out of the house unharmed before Green allegedly set the house on fire.

Green then came out of the home and surrendered. Investigators determined on Wednesday that Green was responsible for the house fire, with the house not able to be saved despite four fire departments fighting the fire Monday.

Investigators were attempting to serve Green with a warrant for kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping after Green allegedly a man, held him against his will for several days and tied him up and beat him with an object. The alleged kidnapping occurred in Greer, S.C. on Dec. 25, 2018, according to reports.

Green is also accused of firing shots from the Landrum home on Monday while he was barricaded.
