Hiker finds body outside Landrum

Death not suspicious; man’s identity not yet released
LANDRUM—A hiker discovered a man’s body Wednesday evening on a trail near Landrum.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says the death does not seem suspicious.
The body was found just before 7 p.m. Wednesday off the Chestnut Ridge Heritage Preserve Trail, which is located outside Landrum near Oak Grove Road.
The sheriff’s office said the death likely occurred around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the man found about a mile down the trail.
The Greenville County Coroner has not yet determined the cause of death or identified the victim, with an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.
The identity of the man is being withheld until family can be notified.
