Polk County Schools Preschool Program is now taking applications for the 2019-2020 school year. Children must be 4 years old by August 31 to qualify. 

A limited number of three-year-old children, who meet certain eligibility criteria, will also be considered. Applications can be picked up at each elementary school, Stearns Education Center in Columbus, or printed from the Polk County Schools website (www.polkschools.org). 

 

Call 828-894-3051 and ask for the preschool department for more information. Preschool classrooms are located at each elementary school – Polk Central, Saluda, Sunny View and Tryon. All classrooms have received a 5 star rating from the N.C. Division of Child Development and Early Education.
