The international “Young Reporters for the Environment” competition caught the eye of 8th graders at Polk County Middle School this year. Students in Jeanne Ferran’s English classes have spent time investigating environmental issues in Polk County and coming up with solutions. Some of the concerns that students identified were water quality, kudzu issues, healthy living choices, and ecotourism, to name a few.
