Saluda Living in Place Presents Program on “Senior Home Safety”

Join Saluda Living Place (SLIP) for an important program on “Senior Home Safety” on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Saluda First Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 213 Henderson Street. Frank McNutt is a Home Safety Specialist certified through Age Safe America. He will present a 40 Point Home Safety Assessment that includes Fall Prevention, Fire Safety, Aging-in-Place Home Modifications, Crime Prevention and Personal Safety. This program is especially important for anyone who wants to remain in their own home as long as possible.
According to AARP 90% of seniors want to age in their own homes. Yet 85% of older adults have done nothing to prepare their homes for aging. Research by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention shows that home modifications and repairs may prevent up to 50% of home accidents among senior including falls. Come and learn the steps you can take to more safely age in place.
