Lady Cardinals advance to second round

Hardin scores 31 points to lead the Cardinals

LANDRUM—The Landrum High Lady Cardinals are heading to the second round of the state 2A Girls basketball playoffs after making a statement against North Central on Tuesday at home.

The Lady Cards won 72-58, and led the game by as many as 30 points before taking the win.  

Lindsey Hardin led the Cardinals with 31 points. She scored 23 points in the first half. Of the 31 points, six of her shots were three pointers.  

Bailey Butler added 15 points, including eight points in the Cardinals’ first-quarter run. Sarah Harris added another 12 points to lead the Cardinals. 

It was the Lady Cardinals first round of playoffs.  

The Cardinals started the game with a 17-3 run and were beating the Knights 44-23 at halftime.  

Landrum Head Coach Deon Brice said he was proud of the effort, especially on defense.  

Landrum advances to the second round of playoffs. They will take on Saluda at Saluda next, who recently beat St. Joseph’s in the playoffs.
