Avril Gladys Sadler- Lomas

Mill Spring, NC– Avril Gladys Sadler- Lomas, 85, resident of Polk County, NC, died on Friday, February, 1st 2019 in her home located in Saluda, North Carolina.

Avril was born in England and she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Sadler. Avril was a happy and sharp witted lady who would not hesitate to tell you her option even if you didn’t relish it. She was devoted to her horses and any other pets she might have had, their care came before her own. She lived and breathed for her animals. Avril was a devout vegan whom supported local and nationwide animal rights groups and rescue missions. Avril would give her last dollar to help save the animals.

During the 90’s Avril was brought to the United States to teach Radiologic Technology for a college located in Massachusetts. She decided to remain in the US, therefore became a naturalized citizen on December 20, 1999. When Avril retired from teaching she relocated to North Carolina until her peaceful passing. Avril has no family in the United States but has extended family in Great Britain, South Africa, and New Zealand.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

There will be a receiving of friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In place of flowers please donate to local Animal Shelters in Avril’s name.
