Homeowner arrived to three suspects on property

CAMPOBELLO — A Campobello, S.C. homeowner came home Monday night to three suspects in the back of the home and shot one of the suspects, according to the Campobello Police Department.

Campobello Police Chief Chad McNeill said shots were fired and the homeowner hit one male suspect in the leg. That suspect later identified as Wes Anderson, was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, according to reports.

The other two suspects were arrested and booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

Carolynn Michelle Crocker, 37, of Boiling Springs, S.C. and Amanda Gail Tuck, 39, of Chesnee, S.C. were both arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, according to Campobello Police reports.

Both women were still being held in jail as of Tuesday.

McNeill said Anderson will be booked in jail once he is released from the hospital.

The owner of the home was not injured.

McNeill said the woman’s property has been burglarized a couple of weeks ago and it is believed the same suspects returned Monday.

The Campobello Police Department called the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to assist in the investigation.

The home is located on Pine Street in Campobello.
