Polk athlete receives cross-country state championship ring

Polk County senior Caleb Potter received his state cross-country championship ring Tuesday evening during a halftime ceremony in the school gym.
Potter was honored at intermission of Polk County’s boys basketball game with Owen.
Polk County Board of Education chairman Geoffrey Tennant presented Potter with his championship ring, earned in November when the senior captured the state 1A championship in a photo finish, defeating Lincoln Charter’s Ryan Zink by .07 seconds.
Polk County cross-country coach Alan Peoples also took part in the ceremony.
