Brevard snapped Polk County’s three-game winning streak, handing the Wolverine junior varsity team a 43-23 setback Thursday in nonconference boys basketball action at Polk.

The Blue Devils built a 15-point halftime lead and pushed on to drop the Wolverines to 8-5 overall.

Shaq Wingo led Polk with six points, with Wes Royster scoring five and Chan Barber adding four. Nate Henderson and Davin Hines each scored three points, with Ben Hardin and Nathan Mann each scoring one.

Polk County returned to Western Highlands Conference play on Friday, hosting Madison.
