Tryon Elementary School held its annual fourth and fifth-grade pageant a little earlier than usual this year.

The performance was held just before winter break, which provided the perfect opportunity to help everyone get into the holiday season, organizers said. Fourth and fifth-graders performed a wide variety of holiday music, treating the audience to a mix of cultural and traditional Christmas songs.

Throughout the pageant, scenes took the audience to the Hawaiian Islands, New York City, Mexico, the North Pole, the town of Tryon Christmas Parade, the town of Bethlehem and landed with a glimpse of a winter wonderland.

While all fourth and fifth-grade students had a part in the pageant, there were three students who led the show. These performers were fifth-grade students Charley Dusenbury, Cannon Iamurri and Dylan Twitty.

The pageant was under the direction of art teacher Clara Rogers, with help from music teacher Woody Cowan and Rogers.
