Let the moon shine on Saluda

Saluda Community Land Trust volunteers recently had the first skirmish in the battle against kudzu and ivy that is climbing the trees on land that will soon be a pocket park and greenway for Saluda citizens. Thanks to the Bradley Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation, a 1.43-acre parcel of land has been purchased inside Saluda City limits, on Louisiana Drive. The land is rumored to have once had a moonshine still near where the spring box still stands. SCLT volunteers have had several workdays to start clearing the property and are hoping to at least get the moon to shine on some undeveloped land in Saluda.
