Retired minister and journalist Pat Jobe was the guest speaker at the Jan. 10 meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon. His presentation was about his most recent book, “Heart on Wheels” which is about the life of his recently deceased longtime friend, Tommy HIcks. Hicks, who was diagnosed at a very young age with muscular dystrophy, refused to let the disease interfere with his ability to work and lead a very productive life. Jobe shared many stories about how Hicks was an inspiration to others. Pictured are Jobe (right) and Club President Fred Hartley. (Submitted by Bill Hillhouse)
