After hearing of a need in Hendersonville and receiving an additional donation of a $100 gift certificate from Walmart, members of The Congregational Church of Tryon got together in December to fill backpacks to donate to the Hendersonville Rescue Mission to give to its clients.  Pictured is Tim Jones, vice president of operations at the mission, receiving the backpacks, which contained personal hygiene products, winter hats and gloves, socks, several shirts, pens and paper, energy bars, etc.  The rescue mission is a faith-based nonprofit that is dedicated “to [ministering] to needy persons by way of presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them and helping to provide for their spiritual and physical needs.” (Submitted by Ellen Harvey Zipf, photo courtesy of D.
