The Polk County High School Marching Band held the drawing for their car raffle after the Tryon Christmas parade on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Stott’s Ford.

The winner was Carin Harris, of Mill Spring. There were close to 730 tickets sold, with all proceeds going to benefit the PCHS Marching Cadets.

“We greatly appreciate the generous support of the community as well as the support of Stott’s Ford and Windstream,” said Sue Belden, who coordinated the fundraiser.

The event was a huge success, and could not have done been done without the support of several local businesses, organizers said.

Harris was in disbelief when told she was the winner and questioned if she “was being punked” when handed the keys.

The cadets congratulate Harris and hope she enjoys her new ride. The band also thanks the community for its continued support of the PCHS Marching Cadets.
