New ‘Fresh Start’ fellowship offered Sunday evenings at Tryon United Methodist Church

Published 8:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2018

Beginning Sunday, Jan. 6, Tryon United Methodist Church will offer a new contemporary praise and worship fellowship, named “Fresh Start.”

It is more than a “service,” being truly designed for people to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus through fellowship with each other, regardless of background, church representatives said.

Praise and worship, led by TUMC’s praise band, Broken Bread, will begin at 5:30 p.m.   People are invited to come at 5 p.m. for snacks, desserts and casual fellowship.

Pastor Lynnette Sills and the occasional guest speaker will bring inspiring messages and meditations that will help anyone, whether they are flourishing or happen to be in the midst of struggles or questioning their purpose in life, representatives said.

The contemporary service previously offered by TUMC at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays is being discontinued, with efforts now focused on the 5:30 p.m. Fresh Start service, with evening being a more convenient time for most people.

Tryon United Methodist is located at 195 New Market Road. Fresh Start will be in the fellowship hall, so visitors can follow the signs and enter at the lowest level of the building directly off New Market.
