Sunny View Elementary School recently waged a Coin War between classes to raise money for a very worthy cause, teachers said. A student at a neighboring school needs a service dog, and money is needed for its training. Sunny View students raised $785 to benefit their fellow Polk County student. Fifth-grade teacher Gina Kelly-Price coordinated the efforts. The class that collected the most money will be treated to a popcorn and movie party. Pictured are, from left, some of the fifth-grade students whose class won the Coin War: Van Chinchar, Avrey Hensley, Gracie Hartley, Bo Reid, Junie Mitchell and Conner Evans. (Submitted by Angela Hall)
