Allen Overholt of Columbus went home to be with the Lord, Friday afternoon, December 21, 2018 following a sudden illness.

Born in Hartville, OH, he was the son of the late Ben and Sarah Miller Overholt. Mr. Overholt moved to Columbus in 1997 coming from Sarasota, FL. During his working career, he has worked as a mason.  He was a founding member and past elder of Foothills Community Chapel. 

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Lydia Schrock Overholt; one son, Patrick Overholt (Patricia) of Tryon; two daughters, Julie Bacher (Darrell) of Columbus and Gloria Overholt of Ellenton, FL; eight brothers, Ray, Leroy, Wayne, Joe, Marlin, Larry, Nathan and Galen; eight sisters, Barbara Jean, Edna, Marie, Fannie, Mary Lou, Rose, Carolyn and Dorcas.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family received friends  on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Foothills Community Chapel, 2720 Landrum Road, Columbus, NC.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Monday December 24, 2018 in the Foothills Community Chapel with Pastor Jason Schlabach and Pastor Pat Overholt officiating.

Burial will be private.
