Tryon’s Mark McCall and his son, Kevin McCall, also of Tryon, participated in the Dec. 15 slalom race at Appalachian Ski Mountain. Mark placed second in flight 14 and Kevin placed second in flight 13. The two are competing in the Crescent Ski Council Race series, which consists of two races at Appalachian Ski Mountain, two at Sugar Mountain, one at Beech Mountain and one at Snowshoe, West Virginia. Mark and Kevin are members of the Spartanburg Ski Club and race with the Palmetto Race Team from Greenville.
