Newcomer joins Polk school board

Recently elected Polk County Schools Board of Education member Michael Ashworth was sworn into office during the school board’s December meeting Monday night at Polk County High School. Ashworth ran uncontested as the Tryon Township representative to the board in November’s midterm election.
