Max Dean Weaver, 80, husband of Rose Weaver, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

Born in Green Creek, he was the son of the late Daniel Weaver and the late Ora Sellars.

Dean was a retired truck driver, having driven for Hess Oil Co. for more than 30 years. He was also a well-known horse trainer.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Alan Weaver (Katie); three grandsons, Jeffrey Dean Weaver, Angus Daniel Weaver and Shane Wofford; a sister, Jeanette W. Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Weaver; and a sister, Pauline Weaver Hyder.

The family will receive friends at a reception held in Dean’s honor from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Petty Funeral Home.
