The WCCR Old Time Radio Club will feature holiday programming from the past at its December meeting.

First will be a Christmas related radio program that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats, representatives said. Eddie Cantor has a serious role on “Suspense,” radio’s “outstanding theater of thrills.”  Many famous comedians of the day enjoyed being on the show to expand their talents into serious programming.

After a trivia quiz, there will be a video of a famous radio show that migrated to television. An episode of “Dragnet” will show police detectives doing their work on New Year’s Eve.

This will be followed by a six-minute radio spoof of “Dragnet” featuring Stan Freberg (one of the many stars on the Spike Jones radio program).

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Isothermal College in Columbus.
