Polk Central looks into future during Red Ribbon Week

Polk Central Elementary students recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week, with a different focus each day.

The theme for the week was “Life is your journey…how will you spend it?”

Events held each day for the student body included:

Monday — “Your Future is Bright.” Students wore bright neon colors to shine bright on their future. Students could sign the Future Career Poster to share with others what career they want to have when they are older. 

Tuesday — “Hats ‘Off’ to making Good Choices.” Students wore hats to support making good choices in their life journey.

Wednesday — “Mix It Up Friend Day.” Students wore mismatched socks to support mixing it up and getting to know someone they don’t know very well. Students were able to sit with a different class during lunch to encourage getting to know someone new. 

Thursday — “College/Team Day.” Students wore college or team apparel to get them thinking of their future college. Students could view the College Map Bulletin Board and share where they would like to attend college one day. 

Friday — “Happy & Kind Day.” Students wore red to support being happy, kind and thinking of their bright futures.
