Polk leader named WHC’s top boys soccer coach; player earns offensive player of year

Polk County boys soccer head coach Josh Trejo has been named the Western Highlands Coach of the year and junior Isaac Edwards has been named the league’s offensive player of the year.
Trejo and Edwards were honored for a season in which Polk County reached the 1A West Regional final, dropping a 1-0 decision to Community School of Davidson.
Four other Wolverines — Nicolas Lopez, Grayson Jones, Jeses Avellanda and Clark Phipps — were voted to the all-conference team.
Owen’s Michael Gun was named the conference player of the year, with teammate Melzer Morgan named the defensive player of the year.
