Abigail Hill was recently awarded a monetary gift from the Community Chorus to continue pursuing her music education.

Hill, who is currently the youngest member of the Community Chorus, has been singing with the chorus for more than a year, and studies with opera singer, composer and voice teacher Brenda Quilling.

Attendees at the Community Chorus concerts will recognize Hill as the soprano soloist in last spring’s concert. She will solo again in the upcoming Christmas concert, set for Sunday at the Polk County High School Auditorium.

Hill has also sung the National Anthem a number of times at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, including during the World Equestrian Games. This past spring, she and her siblings performed at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, where her brother is a midshipman.

When she is not singing, Hill works as the barn manager at Serenity Acres in Green Creek.
