Small Polk contingent competes at West Henderson meet

A handful of Polk County athletes opened the 2018-19 indoor track season on Thursday, competing in the Falcon Polar Bear Invitational at West Henderson.

The Wolverines brought home a pair of first-place finishes, with Izzy Jackson winning the 500-meter dash and defending state champion Jake Justice capturing the pole vault.

Polk County is scheduled to open its home indoor track season on Wednesday, hosting the Polk County Polar Bear 1 at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
