Wolverine JV girls basketball team nips A.C. Reynolds in season opener

Polk County’s junior varsity girls opened their season with a win Monday, topping A.C. Reynolds 28-25 in nonconference basketball action in Fairview.

Emily Prince scored 11 points and Amy Chupp grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Wolverines to the win.

Alana Jergenson scored nine points, including six in the second quarter, as Polk County grabbed a 15-12 halftime lead.

Kaylin Jenkins added eight points while Lauren Dotson grabbed eight rebounds. Sara Wilson had three rebounds while Julia Ridings and Jessie Emory each had two rebounds.

Polk County is next slated to travel Wednesday to East Henderson.
