Music study comes to life for Polk Central second-graders

Published 8:00 am Wednesday, November 28, 2018

Second-grade students at Polk Central Elementary have been studying tone color and families of instruments with music teacher Beth Packer.  On Nov. 6, students were treated to a special visit from professional violinist and teacher Sharon Lawrence, of Rutherford County. Lawrence taught the students about string instruments, performed a variety of musical numbers on her violin and then finished the performance by having some of the students play along with her. Those students all had a memorable day playing the violin for the very first time. (Submitted by PolkStudents.com)
