Mr. Johnny Ray Effler, 81, passed away Nov. 21, 2018, in The Waterford Assisted Living Facility at Dillon Pointe, Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He was born April 30, 1937. He graduated from Green Creek High School in Polk County, North Carolina, in 1955. He served four years in the United States Air Force and four years in the United States Navy, then several years with the civil service.

He is survived by his twin sister, Anna Fay Effler Fowler of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a cousin, Phil Effler of Tryon, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel, Chesnee, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Halcyon Hospice, 300 E. Main St., Spartanburg SC 29302.
