Eugene Albert McSwain, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Nov. 19, 2018. 

He was son of the late Albert and Connie Hutcherson McSwain, and husband of Josephine Stott McSwain. 

He was retired from Wilson Equipment Company. Eugene was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He loved his tractors and enjoyed working on tractors for all his friends and family. 

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Stott McSwain; his children, Debra Denton, Craig McSwain, Penny Burrell, Jerry McSwain, Neal McSwain and Karen Raines; two sisters, Marlene Fisher and Shelva Finucan; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

The family received friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Brent Frady, the Rev. John Edwards and the Rev. Gary Lockee. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home.
