The Meeting Place is taking orders through Friday, Nov. 16, for its Homemade Pie Fundraiser benefiting Polk County Senior Services. The fundraiser features homemade buttermilk, Mississippi mud, pumpkin and pecan pies, just in time for Thanksgiving. All money raised will help fund more programs for senior citizens in Polk County. Those interested in purchasing a pie may call 828-894-0001 to place an order. Checks should be made payable to “The Meeting Place.” Orders will be received through Friday, Nov. 16. Pies can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21. The Meeting Place will work with customers if that pick-up time does not work for them, if they give the center advance notice.
