TubaChristmas to take place Dec. 1 at PCHS

Published 8:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2018

TubaChristmas will return to the western and upstate Carolinas for the 22nd year next month.

As always, it will be the first Saturday of December, Dec. 1, this year. The performance will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Polk County High School.

Merry TubaChristmas is celebrating its 44th anniversary, having been created by Harvey Phillips to honor his mentor/teacher, the late tubist William J. Bell. Every Christmas season, tuba and euphonium players of all ages, 8 to 90 years old, gather to perform traditional Christmas carols as well as some special works. There are usually 50 to 70 players on the stage.
