Alex Clifford Brazell, 65, of Columbus, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at his home.

Born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Hallman Brazell and Barbara Prince Brazell.

He has been a resident of Columbus for the past 20 years, coming from Spartanburg. Alex retired from Milliken Cotton Blossom after over 30 years of service. 

Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Manning Brazell, who died in 2013. 

He is survived by one son, Kris Brazell, of Gray Court, South Carolina; one brother, Mike Brazell (Mechelle) of Woodruff, South Carolina; two sisters, Beth Short (Robert) of Campobello, South Carolina, and Cindy Frey (Jody) of Campobello; one grandson, Dashiell Brazell, of Gray Court; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, North Carolina, with the Rev. Bruce Schmidt officiating. 

Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus. 

Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m.  Following the service, the family will be at the home of Beth and Robert Short in Campobello.
