Good to see progress on Eastside eyesores

It was good news reading the article “Tryon house to be demolished,” published in the Bulletin Sunday, Oct. 21.
It appears that all the necessary steps have been taken, with one house scheduled, a second house expected to be approved next month and, according to Tryon Attorney William Morgan, “several in the process, and more will be coming to commissioners in the next few months.”
Ever since my husband and I moved to Polk County in 2002, we have read the Bulletin’s front-page articles about this issue. With the beauty of the topography on the Eastside obscured by some dilapidated houses, it is heartening to know that action is going forward.
The patience and persistence of citizens and Tryon commissioners is to be commended.
