Stop littering our local roadways

Published 8:00 am Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Ninety days ago, I walked along Old Howard Gap road, about 8/10ths of a mile, and picked up trash from both sides of the road.

The other day, I did the same. This is the same amount of trash that accumulated in that 90 days.

I am so disappointed in humanity that we can care so little for the land we are living on and for our neighbors who live along the roads we are making our garbage pits on.

If you can take time to buy fast food, beer or cigarettes, then please take the time to bring your trash home with you and put it in your trash can.

I would rather be volunteering at a homeless shelter or at the school than picking up your trash. Actually, I would rather be reading and quilting.
