Body of missing Mill Spring man found in Landrum

Authorities are investigating the death of a Mill Spring man, whose body was found in Landrum Saturday, according to a release from Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger.

According to Clevenger, his office and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office were called to a scene near the intersection of Blackstock Road and Asheville Highway in Landrum, where the body of 64-year-old Ray Bland McCraw, of Flat Branch Trail in Mill Spring, was discovered off the roadway. McCraw had been reported missing by family since Tuesday of last week.

Authorities pronounced the man dead as of 2:14 p.m. Saturday.

A preliminary exam does not show foul play present in his death, though the coroner said a more thorough exam was set to take place Sunday.
