A broadcasting professional will address the WCCR Old Time Radio Club at its October meeting.

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. at the Isothermal College in Columbus on Monday.

In anticipation of Veterans Day, the meeting will have a military theme and feature Bob Keeton, of Tryon, as guest speaker. He will describe how, at station WPVR in Roanoke, he met Adrian Cronauer, author of “Good Morning, Vietnam.” He will also show a video production he created honoring the author of that famous story made into the movie starring Robin Williams.

Also, at the meeting will be recorded radio highlights from the World War II era. Attendees will hear radio stars of the day talk about war-time rationing, saving bonds and V-mail.

Also presented will be radio public service announcements of the 1940s designed to build morale to aid the war effort.
