Jenne also won the WHC title as a sophomore before winning the doubles title last season with Harris, en route to winning the state 1A championship.

Harris and Griffin defeated Avery’s Ellie Kitchin and Cassie Bailey 8-0 in the quarterfinals, then knocked off Avery’s Hannah Rice and Aiden Betz 8-1 in the semis before defeating Owen’s Margaret Hey and Summer Thoma 8-2 in the championship match.

It is the second consecutive WHC doubles title for Harris while the first for Griffin, who won the WHC singles crown last season as a freshman.

Polk County’s Sara Musa and Ava Marino won their opening doubles match, 8-2, but fell 8-2 to Rice and Betz in the quarterfinals.

Jenne, Harris and Griffin all earned a spot in the 1A West Regional tournament, set for Oct. 19-20 in Elkin. The top four finishers there will advance to the state tournament on Oct. 26-27 in Cary.
