Saluda Mayor Fred Baisden presents a Certified Municipal Clerk plaque to City Clerk Tola Ellis during the city’s board of commissioners meeting Monday evening. To receive the certification, Ellis participated in more than a year’s worth of courses through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in order to receive the distinction. Ellis said she intends to pursue the title of Master Municipal Clerk though the IIMC as well, a certification that has only been given to around 1,400 clerks around the globe.
