On Tuesday, Oct.  2, 2018, David Barrineau Bond passed away with his family by his side at his Lake Lure residence following a courageous battle with cancer. 

David was born on Feb. 5, 1952, in Bat Cave, North Carolina, to the late George and Marjorie Bond.

His passion for the great outdoors could be seen in his favorite hobbies of golf, hiking and gardening. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, his storytelling ability and his kind and compassionate spirit. 

David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Edith; daughter, Brittany and her husband Christian, of Marshall, North Carolina; daughter, Anna Leigh and her husband Arnoldo of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Liliana, Violet and Isabella; two sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In accordance with David’s wishes, a celebration of life party was held before he passed away; therefore, there will not be a memorial service.
