Brevard snaps Polk JV volleyball team’s winning streak at seven

Polk County’s seven-match winning streak came to an end Wednesday with a tough 2-1 loss at Brevard in junior varsity volleyball action.

The Wolverines dropped a 25-16, 16-25, 15-12 decision, their second 2-1 loss to Brevard this season.

Belen Akers had six kills and five digs for Polk County (12-6), with Emmie McDowell adding five kills, 15 digs and 10 assists. Rollins Carter had 20 digs, Rachaeal Davis had four kills and seven digs, and Kaylin Jenkins had four kills and five digs.

Polk County was back on the court Thursday, hosting Mitchell in a Western Highlands Conference match.
