William Thomas Hessler Sr., 62, of Mill Spring, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of James Hessler and Geraldine Waskom Hessler.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a quartermaster, and was active during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law and brother-in-law.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Reed.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Janice Lee Hessler, of Mill Spring; his mother, Geraldine Waskom Hessler; two sons, William Thomas Hessler Jr. (Renee) of Asheville, North Carolina, and James Harold Hessler (Jennifer) of Mill Spring; one grandson, Graham Michael Hessler of Mill Spring; two sisters; and one brother. Also surviving is his baby girl, Chica.

No services will be held.
