Polk Middle blanks Flat Rock, improves to 4-1

Polk County Middle rebounded Thursday from its first loss of the season, handing Flat Rock a 16-0 defeat at E.L. Justus Stadium.

The Wolverines put together two touchdown drives, both capped by short Angus Weaver runs, to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Weaver scored from 9 yards on the first of those scoring drives, then added the 2-point conversion. Polk’s Obed Najera recovered a Flat Rock fumble at midfield to set up the Wolverines’ next score, a Weaver 2-yard run.

Casey Beiler added the 2-point conversion to account for the final margin.

The Wolverines will return to action on Thursday, traveling to Rugby at 5 p.m.
