While driving to Asheville on Interstate 26 the other day, my wife and I were shocked to see what appears to be mass spraying of defoliant chemicals along the sides of the road. 

The trees look diseased and are dying. It appears whoever has authority along the roadsides simply sprayed instead of doing the harder work of trimming. We were imagining tourists to our area taking a scenic ride into the mountains and instead viewing what looks like blight along our roads.

By whose authority was this work done? We would like to see an investigative report into this issue in order to mobilize our citizens to stop this damaging process. 

No one should be allowed to destroy trees with chemicals simply to clear the roadsides.
